High-Speed Rough Water Shock Mitigating Deep Vee Prototype

Ready for Military Testing

HFS technology is a proven control system thatİincreases fuel efficiency andİreduces pitch and shockİat high speeds inİrough water, and the creation of a high-speed craft prototype has been much anticipated.

Hydroflight Foil Systems® is pleased to announce that it has completed design, fabrication, and installation of an entirely new custom HFS for its latest application, a 70-mph high speed rough water prototype craft. The prototype craft, a 26 ft. deep vee Sutphen hull with twin 200 hp outboards equipped with the high-performance HFS technology, has been launched and is now ready for military testing at Hydroflight's testing facility in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Data is expected to be made public in the very near future, and will be available here first.

Navy Sea Trials Planned for Late Summer 2009

The new prototype craft was chosen to be developed as a near-twin of a boat owned by Mark Gallagher, 2007 National champion for the P5 Class (75mph)İof OPA. This new craft is to be tested side by side with the near-twin boat. Development of this prototype is the next step in the evolution of HFS to satisfy the needs of the militaryİfor high speed deployment, interdiction and search and rescue, and the desires of the high performance and racing industries forİincreased speed and shock mitigation in rough water and, most particularly, increased fuel efficiency.İBoth of the "twinned" boats are expected be available for demostration soon, and to be available for public demonstrations at boat shows.İThe documented 733 HFS-equipped black military RIB is also expected to be available at some of these events.
